December 2012 Experiments

December 15th is the midpoint…of a heckuva difficult month to start or stop any experiments.  I’m still working on Leo Babuta’s Simple Fitness Habit, trying to drink water every morning and do a bit of yoga every evening.  I’m planning a reprise of my 21-Day Quantum Wellness Cleanse next Saturday.  This may become an annual December/January habit and I’m frankly looking forward to eating clean and green for the New Year.  I’ll kick off the Cleanse with a water fast, but I don’t know if that will last one, two or three days.  I just know that I need to hit my system “reset” button.

I’ve also been experimenting with an online goal-setting tool, Lifetick.  I’ve set three goals, two around finances and one around health, using S.M.A.R.T. guidelines: specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely.  I’ve tracked Simple Fitness Habit using Lifetick, setting a weight goal and then plugging in the water and yoga tasks from my December experiments and the Dew and Dunkin’ tasks from my November experiments. You know me, I love my charts and graphs, so this has been fun to work with.

This month, I also want to post more information about my standing desk experiment and a huge milestone I’ll reach very soon in becoming debt-free.

Staying away from the cookies and eggnog isn’t necessarily the experiments to start this month, but the others have been fun and I’m looking forward to some larger experiments I’ll start in January.  Stay tuned!
