Recommendation from Matthew Purdy, Director of Career Services at Murray State University

Recommendation from Matthew Purdy, Director of Career Services at Murray State University

“I had the pleasure of working with Michelle at the beginning of my career at Murray State. Michelle welcomed me with open arms and had me hit the ground running with her office, hosting a meetup night for me to be able to meet and interact with several of our students. She was very easy to collaborate with on a multitude of initiatives, which made for a stronger university overall.

“On a personal note, Michelle was very easy to work with, outgoing, and realistically strategic. The level of student support from her office was both encouraging and inspiring to me as I started the process of (re)building my own operation on campus.”

Recommendation from Abby Hensley, Director of Development – Hutson School of Agriculture and Student Affairs at Murray State University

“For six quick months, I had the honor of working along side Michelle to build the LGBT Programming Office prospect base. Michelle provided three different perspectives to the interim roll – past president of Alliance student group, Murray State University alumnae, and as a marketing professional. Together, we were able to establish a mailing list of nearly 500 names of individuals or organizations who have shown interest in or have supported the LGBT Programming Office at Murray State. The opportunity for growth became more real with Michelle’s help and understanding of how the world of Development and Student Affairs can work in harmony to reach success.”

Recommendation from John Sayles, CEO at Vermont Foodbank

Recommendation from John Sayles, CEO at Vermont Foodbank

“Michelle was a fabulous contributor to the Vermont Foodbank. She came aboard in a newly-created position of digital media specialist where the tasks and goals were co-created with her team. Michelle was able to quickly learn our mission and culture, and help the Foodbank reflect that in the digital world. She created a vibrant digital presence that interacts with our supporters in a way that is nurturing, mission-oriented and always respectful. She truly brought this organization to a new level in the digital world, and created the base for the organization to continue on a path as a nonprofit innovator in the digital space.

“A short story: I took Michelle with me to a talk by a digital marketing consultant who presented on ways to maximize the value of a website. It was very exciting! The next day Michelle was implementing the tools she learned about and making changes to our website. What resulted was a new way of continual testing and improvement that results in more conversions of website hits to donations. Continuous improvement seems to be in her DNA.

“Michelle is smart, mission-driven, inquisitive and innovative. She is driven and self-motivated. I recommend her highly based on my experience working directly with her, and seeing the results of her work for the Vermont Foodbank.”

Recommendation from Chris Meehan, Chief Community Impact Officer at Vermont Foodbank

Recommendation from Chris Meehan, Chief Community Impact Officer at Vermont Foodbank

“Over the past three years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Michelle in her role as digital media specialist for the Vermont Foodbank. From the beginning, Michelle took a keen interest in going above and beyond her official job duties to offer her experience and expertise to the Foodbank’s network of 225 food shelves and meal sites. The majority of food shelves and meal sites are run by volunteers and do not have the capacity to enter into the social media realm. Michelle helped to build their capacity by creating a series of classes that were offered in person and online. This made all the difference for many of these small mission driven organizations. She was always interested in improving the classes offered; each year, she sought feedback and made adjustments to ensure that she was providing the best service possible. I would highly recommend Michelle.”

Recommendation from Jessica Cox, Director of Harpoon Helps at Harpoon Brewery

“I got the opportunity to work with Michelle for a couple of years specifically promoting the Harpoon Point to Point, presented by National Life group, which is the Vermont Foodbank’s largest fundraiser. Michelle took ahold of our digital promotion, specifically with Google Adwords and really drove exposure for us. Her attention to detail, creativity in making sure we were maximizing every dollar we spent, on top of trying to get conversions (registered riders) was top-notch. She was thoughtful to give the team reports on how things were going on the back-end, which I admittedly didn’t always understand due to my lack of knowledge on digital analytics, but had full trust that every decision Michelle made was a good one. We were a bit behind on some of the social media opportunities available to us, and she has a kind, patient demeanor and was careful to suggest changes and push where needed to take on new opportunities. She’s analytical, thorough, competitive and forward thinking in her approach and was a real asset to our team and our event.”
