I’m working with a new client on their website and social networking presence. They’re already doing a good job, but I’d forgotten how fun it is to troubleshoot around this type of stuff.
When all the obvious parts are in place (working links, Facebook icon, interesting and dynamic content), where do you go next?
Tweaking your blog or website
I always start with the basics, including:
- What is my first impression of the site? You have 1-3 seconds to capture someone’s interest.
- What content is in the prime real estate of the blog? Most viewers look first to the upper left corner of the webpage.
- What is the purpose of your site? And are you translating that into a call to action?
- Are you making it easy for readers to navigate the site?
- Are you making it enjoyable for readers to navigate the site?
These questions aren’t even technical and they can provide a few hours of tweaking to your blog or webpage.
If your website isn’t quite performing how you’d like it to, let me know how I can help.
